She is an individual and if her father is a lout, that doesn't reflect on her. And you don't have to let her father take advantage of you. If you can manage without the support of your family, go ahead. If you cannot, you can try to convince your parents by taking advice - tell them what you feel for the girl and try to get their consent. If you don't get it, you can still go on your own.
