How is daily college life like high school life?

I am attending college in the fall, and I was wondering if there were daily cles just like high school-you know, 7 hours a day for the weekdays listening to your teachers drone on and you can't wait to get home. Or is it more open, do you have one or two cles per day, or what? I just wonder if you have to go to four periods, have a set lunch time, and go to two more long hours, and then go home. And if you have any tips/advice from college experience, that would be great to a timid newbie like me. Thanks!
