Permed hair/breakage?

i belive i might have done harm to my own hair... I permed my hair on sat. about 4 hrs. after i left the pool, i did not wash my hair. I had highlighted about 3 wks. ago. after it was all done, my highlights came right out i had severe breakage. Can you recommend a deep conditioner for my hair. I did buy some deep conditioner from the local beauty depot, but can you recommend something else?
