Is clotting after a d and c normal?

I had to have a d and c last week because the baby stopped growing. I am still cramping and I am having some blood clots come out. Not huge but still enough for me to know they are clots. Is this normal? I was really upset when the dr talk to me but I think she said that I should have no clots after the d and c. Can someone who has been through this please give me some incite on this? Thank you
