Where can I find Mint plants?

Hi, I am trying to find out whether I can find any mint plants in the wild. I think I know that they are fairly common, but I'm not sure where to find them. I live in Vernon, BC, Canada, and if anybody is from around here, or you know any particularly god places to look for mint, any help is appreciated. For example, would you be more likely to find mint around lakes, or near rivers, or in dense forest areas, etc? Thanks.
